Lon and Regina, residents of North West Idaho, share a lifelong passion for birds. Lon's avian journey began in Southern California, where he started breeding and selling birds to friends and local pet stores. Relocating to the Northwest in the late 1990s, Lon continued his avicultural pursuits, initially with button quails and later expanding to pied pearl face cockatiels, parakeets, and song canaries, specializing in Harz Rollers and Waterschlagers.

The turning point came under the guidance of mentor Luis Santacoba, as Lon found success breeding red mosaic mutations in color canaries. At home, Lon and Regina manage a bustling household, enjoying time with their nine children. Notably, Lon contributed nearly 250 birds to the Woodland Park Zoo's Willawong Bird Exhibit in 2005, enhancing the interactive experience for visitors by allowing them to feed a variety of Australian birds.
